Royalty Payouts Paladin Live on the Shopify App Store

Pay creators their share, per sale.

Settings

Everything on the Settings page, in the order it appears.

Account

Your plan, and the link to Shopify’s plan picker. Billing runs entirely through Shopify: the app does not create, change or cancel subscriptions, it reads the result. Cancelling is done in Shopify, and uninstalling ends it.

The account page also holds linked stores, described below.

Notifications

Notification email is where the “batches ready for approval” alerts go. Left empty, they go to the store owner’s address.

PayPal payouts

Client ID, Client secret and Mode (Sandbox or Live), with Test connection. See PayPal payouts for what the integration does and what PayPal requires of you.

Creator portal

Enable the creator portal for this store, plus the two narrowing switches and, on the Pro plan, your own portal domain. See the creator portal.

Excluded order tags

A list of order tags that make an order accrue no royalties at all, for every rule. Matching ignores case and surrounding spaces, and patterns can match exactly, by prefix, or by substring.

The usual case is crowdfunding fulfilment. Backer rewards come through Shopify as ordinary tagged orders, but the creators were already paid under the campaign’s terms, so accruing on them would pay twice for the same unit.

Alongside it, Exclude B2B orders storewide makes any order placed through a B2B company location accrue nothing for any rule, for stores that settle wholesale under separate terms.

Both are empty or off by default, so neither does anything until you configure it. Both are store-wide blunt instruments: for a carve out scoped to one deal, use that agreement’s own excluded tags and B2B setting, and for one scoped to a single rule, use the rule’s Order criteria.

Whatever level drops a line, it is counted on the creator’s statement as an entry that was not eligible.

Linked stores

Two Shopify stores can be connected, so that one store’s sales can accrue against the other’s agreements and a creator’s earnings can be reported across both.

A parent store generates a one-time pairing code; the other store redeems it from its own admin. Both stores need the Growth plan or higher, continuously: if either drops below it the link is paused rather than deleted, royalties carry on being recorded, and the shared agreements and their payout arrangements resume when both are back on Growth. There is no per-store charge and nothing metered.

Each shared agreement can be routed so that the parent aggregates and pays it, or the linked store pays its own creators from its own PayPal. Default for shared agreements in Settings sets the fallback for agreements you have made no explicit choice on. Routing is read when a period is batched, so changing it affects periods that close afterwards and never moves money that has already been batched.

Plan limits

The number of products with royalties, the number of active creators and the number of Project Mode configurations are all capped by plan, as are PayPal payouts, the creator portal, scheduled email reports and linked stores. See the App Store listing for the current limits and pricing.
